Regions & regional pricing

You choose where in the world your server runs. The region you pick affects two things: ping (how responsive the game feels) and price (how much it costs per minute).

What you'll learn
  • How to pick a region, and how it affects ping and price
  • How the BRL price per minute is calculated
  • The rule about a world's region being fixed

Picking a region

When you open a room — and on the pricing page — you pick a region with a searchable picker. It offers a recommended/closest shortlist, groups regions by continent, lets you search by city, country, or code, and lets you sort by lowest ping or lowest price.

The default region is São Paulo (southamerica-east1), which gives Brazilian players the lowest latency. Other regions across the world can be available too.

tip

For a Brazilian group, São Paulo is almost always the right call: lowest ping for everyone at home. Pick a faraway region only if your friends are actually there — a cheaper distant region saves a little money but adds lag for Brazilian players.

How regional pricing works

Prices are always quoted in BRL, but they're worked out from three pieces:

PieceWhat it does
USD anchoreach plan has a base price in US dollars
Region multipliereach region has a cost factor (São Paulo costs more than a cheaper region)
USD→BRL ratea live exchange rate converts the result to reais

So the price you see is the plan's USD anchor × the region's multiplier × the current exchange rate. That's why switching regions on the pricing page re-prices the whole table, and why a São Paulo room costs more per minute than one in a cheaper region.

note

The price (USD anchor, region multiplier, and exchange rate) is snapshotted when your room starts, so a later change to prices or the exchange rate won't affect a room that's already running.

A world's region is fixed

When you create a world, it's pinned to a region. You can't start a room for that world in a different region — moving a world between regions isn't supported yet. If you want a world in another region, create a new world there.
