Custom server address
Every time you open a room, the raw connect address can change. A custom address fixes that: you claim a memorable hostname for a world, and friends always join the same address — no need to send a fresh IP each session.

How it works
You pick a short name — a slug — and your world gets a hostname like
your-slug.play.lanzinha.com. Share that once, and it keeps working:
- While a room is running, the hostname points at your room's live address, so your friends connect straight through.
- Between sessions, the hostname is parked and simply isn't live — connecting only works while a room is open.
So the deal is: the name is permanent (until you change it), even though the underlying server address comes and goes with each session.
Custom addresses are available when the feature is enabled for your environment. If you don't see the option, it may be turned off — the rest of your world works exactly the same either way.
Choosing a name
Your slug has to follow a few rules:
| Rule | Example |
|---|---|
| 3 to 32 characters | mc, too short; a normal name is fine |
| Lowercase letters and digits | partyserver, squad2024 |
| Hyphens allowed inside, not at the start or end | my-server is OK; -server or server- is not |
If the name you want is already taken by someone else, you'll be asked to pick another. There's also a small per-account limit on how many custom addresses you can hold at once.
Pick something you can say out loud — lanzinha.play.lanzinha.com is easy to share over voice
chat. (Using the example domain here only as a placeholder.)
Setting, changing, or clearing it
You can set a custom address two ways:
- When you create a world — there's an optional field in the create flow.
- Later — on the world card, the globe icon lets you set or edit the address anytime.
To change it, just edit it to a new slug. To clear it, remove the slug entirely — the world goes back to having no custom address, and you'd share the per-session connect address again.
