Snapshots & rollback

Your progress is safe between sessions because Lanzinha snapshots your world every time a room stops. The next room you open restores the latest snapshot, so multiplayer progress just carries over — no manual saving required.

What you'll learn
  • When snapshots are taken and what they include
  • How restoring works on the next room
  • What rollback to an earlier snapshot is (and that it's in beta)

When a snapshot happens

When you stop a room, the server saves and Lanzinha backs the world up before the machine is torn down. That backup becomes your world's latest snapshot. The next time you open a room against the world, that snapshot is restored first, then the game boots — so you pick up exactly where you left off.

This is automatic and happens on every clean stop. You don't have to do anything.

tip

Because snapshots happen on stop, the surest way to capture your latest progress is simply to stop the room when you're done. A crash-stopped room may not snapshot as cleanly as a normal stop.

What's in a snapshot

A snapshot captures the save data for the game — not your room settings:

GameWhat's snapshotted
MinecraftYour Overworld, Nether, and End (world/, world_nether/, world_the_end/)
TeamSpeakThe server's database and uploaded content (channels, permissions, bans, icons, files)

Server settings — difficulty, MOTD, whitelist, ops, a TeamSpeak room's password — are not part of the snapshot. You choose those each time you open a room, and they apply fresh on every boot. That's why changing a setting just takes effect the next time you start.

Rollback (beta)

Sometimes you don't want the latest snapshot — maybe a build went wrong and you'd rather go back to how things were a couple of stops ago. Rollback lets you restore an earlier snapshot instead of the most recent one.

warning

Rollback is currently in beta. The feature is still being polished, so treat it as experimental and keep your own exported backups of anything you can't afford to lose.

A few things to know about rollback:

  • You can only roll back when the world isn't locked by a running room. Stop the room first.
  • Restoring an earlier snapshot becomes the world's new current state — the next room boots from it.
  • If you just want a safety copy before experimenting, export the world first.

Keeping your own backups

Snapshots live with your world on Lanzinha, but you're always free to keep copies of your own:

  • Export a world downloads the latest snapshot as an archive you keep.
  • Re-import it later via the import flow if you ever need to.
