Connecting to your server

Once your room is ready, joining is just a copy-and-paste. Your room's page shows a connect address — that's what you and your friends enter in the game to play together.

What you'll learn
  • Where to find the connect address and how to copy it
  • The quick "open in" buttons per game
  • Custom addresses and direct IPs

The connect address

On the room's page, once the room reaches Ready the connect address appears in a large box with a Copy button. Before it's ready, a placeholder tells you the address will show up here when the room is up.

The address stays visible while the room is active and even while it's saving and shutting down, so a late joiner can still grab it. Click Copy and paste it wherever your game asks for a server address.

Quick "open in" buttons

Some games get a shortcut button right next to the address:

  • Minecraft — an Open in Minecraft button.
  • CS2 — an Open in Steam button that launches the game and connects you.
  • CS 1.6 and TeamSpeak — copy the address and paste it into the client.

A short per-game hint sits under the address explaining exactly where to paste it.

Pasting the address by game

GameWhere to paste
MinecraftMultiplayer → Add Server / Direct Connect
Counter-StrikeThe Steam server browser, or the console connect command
TeamSpeakConnections → Connect → Server Address

Each game uses its own standard port, and the connect address already includes everything the client needs — so most of the time you can paste it as-is, with no port to remember.

Custom addresses and direct IP

If you've given the world a custom address, friends always join the same friendly hostname instead of a changing IP. When a room is running, the room page may also show a direct IP line as a fallback — useful if a client has trouble resolving the custom hostname. Either one connects to the same room.

tip

Set a custom address on your world once and you never have to re-share a new IP each session — your group bookmarks one address and it just works every time you open the room.
