Choosing a server region

A region is the data center where your room runs. Picking the right one keeps ping low for the people playing and helps you control the price, since some regions cost more per minute than others.

What you'll learn
  • What the region picker shows and how to search it
  • How region affects ping and price
  • The default region and how regions relate to worlds

The region picker

When you open a room (and on the public pricing page) you choose the region in a compact, searchable box. It gives you:

  • A short recommended / closest list at the top, so you don't have to scroll.
  • Continent groups to browse the rest of the world.
  • Search by city, country, or region code.
  • Sort by lowest ping or lowest price.

Lanzinha defaults to São Paulo, which is the best pick for most Brazilian players. If the catalog can't be reached, the picker stays hidden and your room uses the default region.

Ping vs. price

Each region shows an estimated round-trip time so you can compare latency for players in Brazil, the US, Europe, and Asia. As a rule of thumb:

  • Closer is snappier. A region near your players means lower ping and a smoother game.
  • Closer to home can cost more. Regions are priced relative to a baseline, so a São Paulo room can cost more per minute than one further away.
tip

If everyone playing is in Brazil, São Paulo is almost always the right call — the lowest ping wins over a small price difference. Only reach for a cheaper, farther region if your group is spread across continents or you're optimizing cost over latency.

Region and your world

For world-backed games, a world is pinned to the region it was created in. You open rooms for that world in the same region every time, so its saved data stays put. If you want a different region for the same kind of game, create a new world there.

note

The price you see already blends the region's multiplier with the current US dollar exchange rate, so the number on the plan card is what you'll actually pay per minute in that region.
