Auto-stop rules

Lanzinha is built so you don't pay for a room you're not using. Rooms close themselves under a few clear rules, and you can override the main one with keep-alive. This page explains each rule so there are no surprises on your bill.

What you'll learn
  • The idle auto-stop and how keep-alive changes it
  • The low-balance stop that protects your wallet
  • The maximum-duration safety cap

Idle auto-stop

When a room has no players connected, it starts a short grace period and then stops itself. This is the everyday rule that keeps empty rooms from billing — you don't have to remember to shut down after everyone logs off.

The grace period is a little longer for TeamSpeak, since voice users tend to drop and rejoin often.

note

Keep-alive turns the idle auto-stop off. With it on, an empty room stays open (and keeps billing) until you stop it or your balance runs low. See Keeping a room open.

Low-balance stop

This is the rule that protects your wallet. As a room runs, Lanzinha checks whether your balance can still cover the next stretch of billing. When it can't, the room stops on its own before your balance reaches zero — so you can never go negative.

If you've enabled notifications, you'll get a one-time low-balance alert so you can top up and keep playing. For kept-alive rooms, this low-balance stop is the only automatic backstop left, which makes it the real limit on cost.

Maximum-duration cap

There's also a safety cap on how long a single room can run, so a forgotten room can't bill forever. When a long-running room hits the cap, it force-stops.

Keep-alive lifts this cap — a kept-alive room ignores the maximum duration and runs until you stop it or hit the low-balance stop.

warning

The low-balance stop is the one rule keep-alive does not override. If you turn keep-alive on and walk away, the room will run — and bill — until your balance gets low. Stop the room when you're truly finished.
